Questions for Rick Argente, and anyone else who has experienced a failure (degradation?) in the 3-BID lip keeping the seat pan from sliding forward --
1) Does the 3-BID lip fracture, or does it peel off the front face of the spar?
2) If it's a peel failure, do you think a preventative measure might be to have the 3-BID along the front face of the spar, with a 4th BID that bonds to the top of the spar? It would attach like an upside down letter Y with one leg on the top, one on the front, and the third appendage curling back to form the lip itself. It might be a bear to lay up, what with the micro going in at the same time to co-cure, but it should be doable.
