For what it's worth, I found it a LOT easier to transition to using the
left hand on a stick than to fly from the right seat back when I began
instructing. I'm guessing that it has to do with the experience of using
the left hand on a wheel to make the same sorts of corrections. Initially,
from the right seat there is the tendency not to have the plane lined up
with the direction of motion.
