Can anyone tell me how much further forward Lancair's long mount moves the
engine. I had mine extended 2" (and made new cowls) long before Lancair
started doing it because it became apparent other builders were hard pressed
getting to the forward limit with pilot and minimum fuel (no header). If
Lancair's one is 3" as I seem to recall hearing sometime I probably need to
be moving other stuff like the battery, hydraulic pump etc forward. I also
have big tail and outback gear so that will be even more weight aft. Does
the battery need to move forward of firewall even?. When you talk about
moving CG forward do you mean to Lancair's new limit or even further? Or do
I need to go back to the drawing board, extend the mount (and the cowling)
some more.
