If in no other place, you should have a breaker that can be pulled at least
in the gear pump circuit. This breaker should always be pulled whenever you
elect to do a emergency (gravity) extension of the landing gear. The drill
is: Pull the breaker, put the switch in the "down" position and then switch
the hydraulic shunt valve to drop the gear.
If you don't have the capability of turning off the pump, preferably at the
breaker, the pump will run continuously when you flip the valve. Not
desireable!
