Don,
There is a big difference when you get up above 5k rpm with a load on it.  It really starts to sing (or should I say scream).  Same thing with the heat load.  Let us know how the Jet Hot coating holds up.

    It's a 2 1/4 in Hushpower II. 304  SS. Muffler was cooler than I thought it would be, but is quite a way from the engine.  The headers go into a small tangential muffler/manifold under the oil pan and  then straight back to the Hushpower under my seat.  Headers and tangetial Jet Coated.  Small exhaust leaks at ball and slip joints and where SS flex clamps on.  A Massive cloud of smoke on start-up, but there was no one around.   Loader than I wanted.  Quieter than the other guys around.  My oil pressure was more like 90 psi as I used a 150 PSI sender and have not calibrated it yet. 
    Eventually I will transition back to a real life, and take care of all the mundane stuff like reseting the computer clock.
