I am not positive, but I was under the impression that all of the filters had bypass valves of some sort to prevent damage.

I was thinking that too.  In fact, I think it's harder to get a filter without the bypass.   I made a note to take a look at one of the filters, and it may be pretty obvious whether it has a bypass.

By the way, your remote mount oil filter.. are you using a racing beat remote mount, or something from summit racing? or did you fabricate a remote mount out of the stock filter "pedestal" ?

My remote mount is using the stock filter "pedestal", and a stock 3rd gen filter (because they're short, made for high pressure, and I still have a bag of them).

I'm still debating this whole air filter thing too (the reason for considering this oil filter plumbing change).  I think I've identified a way to install a reasonably sized cone shaped air filter, but just haven't decided if it's worth it.  What I really need to do if prove whether I'm really only getting 27" MAP at WOT.

Cheers,
Rusty
