The manual instructions for closing the elevators leave me with a couple of
questions. In step F4 it states "Don't bond the L.E. joggle right now". Then
after curing, and several other tasks, the manual instructs in step F12 to
bond the leading edge with Hysol, without any details. I have already cut
out the notches in the bottom leading edge for the hinge bolts.
My questions are:
Has everyone done their elevators this way?
If so, how do you get good Hysol coverage in the leading edge, especially in
the counterweight horn area?
Why not bond the entire elevator at once to ensure good Hysol coverage?
Thanks,
Bill George
