Hi Jack  we placed the second com
antenna behind our fuel selector along the centre line of the fuselage . We
did this after advice Aerotronics in Montana . It is a little difficult to
attach the lead . But not unduly so when compared to some of the other jobs
during construction . We first made up an aluminium plate with anchor nuts
on it then glassed down some al foil or flywire to act as the ground plane
the plate then goes over this .  From talking to a number radio  people
there is still a debate on whether the carbon will act as a good enough
ground plane .We decided to er on the side of caution  and fit one . We had
our radio test the other day and all the antennas came up okay . Time will
tell how they perform in flight .
