I love landing on snow. I don't have a 4p, but years ago, I was flying an arrow and the snow actually slowed me down.
Recently I put my Legacy on the runway at Logan, it was the softest landing I ever made, I used even braking and slowed right down. It was really cool (no pun intended).
If it is really snow ( and not ice ), I think there must be some energy absorption via the virtue that you are pushing the wheels through powder, and our wheels are small.
I love it. Of course, I like driving on snow as well, my wife thinks I'm nuts. Perhaps she's right :)

Subject: [LML] 4P landing on snow
Dear subscribers,
We have winter in Ohio now and most of our runways are plowed but still do have compacted patchy snow on it.
Is there anybody on the list who can give me some advice on departing and landing a 4P on snow?
How much runway do I need if braking action is very small? Does it behave like normal or is it much different on snow? How do you hold it straight at the start when the rudder is not working yet?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks
Ralf
