I agree completely--the plane is sweet. After transitioning from. A C-172 I do areobatics in a Yak-18t and love to roll and loop on the way to a breakfast. I also have a partnership in a RV-6 and love to turn final with a 60 degree bank at 120knots. If you know the envelope of any plane it will be "sweeeeet". If you don't--see ya.  The past evidedece of accident reports is repeat with ignorance and arrogance.   The sad thing is that I think I would have loved to have had a chance to set done and have a beer with all deceased aviators because I connect with their sprit of life. Having said that, if, someone reads this thread and has the same passion for life and living--put your ego in check and get some rudimentary transition training, it's common sense.  Regarding Lynn's comments--I agree completely--the legacy is a dream to fly and very safe--if flown within the design envelope. All legacy afficinodo's, beers me.

Let me state up front that I am not trying to point a finger at any one person, but the idea, put forth on this thread, that the Lancair Legacy is difficult to fly

Is not what I have found in my experience. As a matter of fact, my comment after flying it for the first time was, “the Legacy is one of the nicest flying planes I have ever flown.

It doesn’t take a superman to fly it safely. If I was looking for information to help me decide if I wanted a Legacy, and read this thread, I just might say, no thanks.

Military pilot trainees solo jets safely with few total hours. It is just a matter of thinking ahead of the aircraft and staying inside the normal flight envelope.

IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO FLY IT SAFELY!
