HI THERE

had it happen once and i looked at the damn thing and the message saying it was shutting down due to temperature....
NOW
when i am not using the ipad and the sun is splashing into the cockpit, i lean the ipad against my leg or seat on the floor.
the other thing was to use the sun shields that stick to the windshield. i position it or them to protect the ipad.

I was threading the needle into the Detroit area (see picture) when my iPad (using ForeFlight) displayed a message that it was shutting down due to high temperature. The pinkish line is my flight path and where the dark red line crosses it just below that building is about where it quit. It wasn’t critical at that point because I was very close to my destination (KVLL). Plus I have a Garmin 430W, but it spooked me. That was a first for me. Have any of you experienced this treat in a critical flight regime? What did you do?
