For a center hinged Mk2 tail -- same as the Legacy tail, although I do not know if the elevator weldments are the same -- the distance from the hinge line to the elevator pushrod attachment is 2.865 inches on the new-style weldment.  I could not find the older one in the brief time that I had, but I distinctly recall it being 1 inch greater.
