Terrence,
2) To legally do GPS approaches, you need a panel mounted GPS receiver.
First figure out whether or not you'll want/need WAAS. Yes it gives you
options, but you may just discover that the surrounding weather pattern may
keep you on the ground or out of the area. If you don't need WAAS, the
solution may be as simple as adding a Garmin GPS-155XL or Bendix-King
KLN-89B or KLN-94. The Garmin is out of production but still available on
used avionics sites. If you do need WAAS approach capability, you could
probably get by with a Garmin GPS-400W (GPS only version of the 430),
although you may just want to upgrade to a 430, since you'll get a
glideslope receiver as a side benefit.

1 - I'm thinking an IPad 2 (or 3) wi-fi only, and Bad Elf.
Is anybody doing this?
Kind of complex to decide, as things are changing fast.
2 - What's the least expensive way to equip for IFR GPS approaches?
Attached is what I have so far.
