First figure out whether or not you'll want/need WAAS. Yes it gives you options, but you may just discover that the surrounding weather pattern may keep you on the ground or out of the area. If you don't need WAAS, the solution may be as simple as adding a Garmin GPS-155XL or Bendix-King KLN-89B or KLN-94. The Garmin is out of production but still available on used avionics sites. If you do need WAAS approach capability, you could probably get by with a Garmin GPS-400W (GPS only version of the 430), although you may just want to upgrade to a 430, since you'll get a glideslope receiver as a side benefit.
