Gentlemen,
Whatever table you use, make sure that it has the fabric crossing the
edge on the bias. Then make a cutting guide by taking a piece of metal
square extrusion (steel or aluminum) and attaching two small pieces to
the side. These pieces extend below table height so as to limit the
distance the square can be moved away from the edge. They should be
adjusted by shims or washers so that when the guide is placed on the
table with the limit pieces against the table side the "pizza cutter"
edge will be exactly 2" from the edge. All those 2" strips become an
automatic easy cut. Just line up the fabric with the edge, place the
guide on top with the pieces against the edge and run the cutter against
the guide. It's so fast you won't believe it.
BTW, I vote for HDPE. When the cutter begins to leave a ridge, just hit
the surface with the random orbit sander, and it's like new.
