Rob Wolfe, regarding the push tube, here goes...
Getting it out in the first place will require patience and your dremel. This
may only work if you installed the pilots side rear tunnel wall wide per outback
gear plans. Obviously, disconnect both ends of the tube, and remove the flap
actuator if you have the outback gear option. I have my strobe unit back there
too, so it comes out. Lift the forward end of the tube (take the bearing off)
up and to the right (copilot's side) as far as it will go. Bring the rear of
the tube (leave the bearing in the yoke assembly) forward enough that you can
then push it to the pilot's side and low as far as it will go. You are now
trying to slide this whole thing forward into the co-pilot's foot well, clearing
the seat back with the rear of the tube and then sliding the tube back over the
seatback and into the baggage area. To do this you need the dremel. First you
will find the front end of the tube won't clear the center vertical pedestal of
the instrument panel. I dremeled the center console right wall enough to allow
the tube to move as needed. It only took about a quarter inch at the specific
location and depends how high you went with your center console. I think I also
cleared the seatback upward enough to let the tube move up and over
sufficiently.
Now the tube will slide forward under the co-pilot's instrument panel and under
the electronics I mounted behind the panel there. It goes all the way forward
to the corner of the longeron and the firwall near the engine mount bolt. Back
at the rear of the tube, I needed to dremel a small channel in the seatback to
let the threaded end of the tube swivel clear of the seatback. This will depend
on your seatback position. Now the rear of the tube is clear and you can pull
it back and out of the passenger footwell. If your installation is different from this you may find this works easily or
not at all. Good luck
