On my IO-320,  there were two threaded holes in the bottom of the sump which
I utilized to attach a piece of aluminum angle which supports the throttle
cable.  The cable passes within about 3/8 inch of the exhaust pipe.  After 185 hours, the throttle cable looks and feels like new.  No
discoloration.  I agree it seems close.  Should I start worrying?
