I would guess that AIG is retracting because they don't intend to insure you
when the aircraft is completed. AIG has no financial difficulties. AIG Insurance has always been VERY well
funded. AIG parent is now the best funded of any corporation (our tax
money).
I had lunch with some AIG Insurance folks on Tuesday. They are very nice
and good at what they do. They are not having a good time insuring 4's,
4P's and 4PT's and I'd suggest that's why they are dropping the coverage.

Joe,
I went through Falcon Insurance (EAA program) and they placed me with Global
Aerospace for my builders' coverage, and now my flying coverage. I have an
ES, and given some of the stitches I ended up requiring, I can't see how any
kit could be more dangerous ;). My guess is AIG is retracting given they
much published financial difficulties.
