When you open your dump valve now, it only equalizes high and low sides of the system. They are equal but still under significant pressure sometimes. This would allow you to equalize the pressure on the high and low sides of the system at 0 pressure.
If you have never had an issue with the gear not retracting, I would not do anything.
People have wondered why sometimes the gear mysteriously will not retract.
If you have pressure gauges, you can see that the system is under pressure. the dump valve only puts equal pressure on both sides of the system. If the pressure on the high side reaches 900 or 950 it opens the gear up pressure limit switch while the gear is down. You take off and no gear uppie. Do the gear dumpvalve thing and if the pressure on the high side drops below 900 the gear will retract. Pressure gauges tell a lot about what is happening during these conditions.
It hapens to me when I pull the airplane out of a cool hangar into the warm sun. I It will go from 0 to 5 or 600 routinely in 30 minutes.
