Richard,

The Fire Marshall here in Santa Clara County, CA will not allow portable heaters that have glowing elements.  That includes all fuel fired types, and most electric types with an exposed element (too dangerous in a hanger).  He will allow a sealed oil-filled electric heater, provided it has a tip-over safety switch, a timer, and is small (e.g. 1,500 watts max) only big enough to warm the area where you intend to be located (not big enough for the entire hanger).

I bought the wrong type and learned the hard way, and had to buy another one.

Subject: [LML] Seasonal Question on working with eGlass

As it’s starts to get cooler (It’s never really cold in Austin) I have thought about auxiliary heat for the hanger.

Is there any problem with some of the forced air heaters Diesel/Jet Fuel, or Propane in terms of the interacting negatively with the E-glass construction.

i.e. If it’s ok for me to breathe is it ok in the construction environment ? These are not externally vented so I was worried about chemical interaction with the exhaust fumes.
