 My LongEZ Narco experienced static and worse coming back from Reno 3 years
 ago. Center required me to go to 12,500 feet out of Carson City for
 following to Page AZ. 2/3 of the way there the radio just got more and more
 static till I couldn’t read center any longer. A commercial airliner had to
 relay messages to / from me to center. The flight was nearly 3 hours and I
 attributed it to buildup over time at altitude. I’ve done nothing about it
 and haven’t had the experience again. Normal reception is in excess of 100
 miles at higher altitudes.
