<< Lancair Builders' Mail List >>
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Marv:
I think LML as a type chapter is a great idea, and one that makes a lot
of sense to anyone flying or building a Lancair. The nearest EAA chapter
(to which I don't belong) is full of great tube and rag builders, all great
gents and gals; but of little aid technically to a composite builder. I'm
not close either in terms of distance, so I forgo the comradeship they would
otherwise provide. The LML is of great benefit to me technically and
especially from a morale (esprit) standpoint. A virtual chapter seems
entirely appropriate to me in this day and age. Type chapters don't really
make a lot of sense in other scenarios, but they do in the case of kit
airplanes where all the members will be better able to trade building and
flying experience on their type airplane. I think this is especially true
in the case of unique higher performance airplanes. You have my vote and
my 2 cents worth of opinion.
Cheers, Pete
