General information (I have no idea where it came from) would have us
believe that Slicks should be seriously looked at every 500 hours.
Plugs? Hmmmmmm.... I have "fine wire" plugs - made with an
exotic metal that does not participate in the fire. Thus, they do not
erode and, some say, more easily allow the spark to bridge the gap resulting is
less misfires. Champion probably has a web site with examples of plugs
that have reached the end of adjustment - the center electrode is a
pronounced oval rather than round.
Replace those plugs if you have been winning races and just lost one!
