Pat: This used to happen to me as well (usually with initial switch to left
tank in flight). It went away when I developed the routine practice of
starting the engine on one tank (left), and then switching to the other
while taxiing and before run-up. Has never hiccupped in flight since, and I
presume this means there is some "dead-space cavitation" in the lines prior
to initial startup in the lines between the tanks and fuel pump.
Let us know if this technique works for you, too.

"An old issue is still plagueing me, when switching fuel tanks, ususally
only
once a trip, the engine falters for 3-8 seconds, finally catches and it does
not occur again on subsequent tank changes in that flight".
