Scott,
are you sure about the 22:1 glide ratio in coarse pitch? I know the
320 is
light and aerodynamically efficient, but that's an amazing number.
The CAFE
report on the Legacy got the best result at 135 KIAS (145 KTAS),
steep
pitch, 1100 fpm descent, 13.3:1. Maybe your engine is still giving a
little
thrust in coarse pitch, it wouldn't take much. Can you go up and kill
your
engine and retest? Just kidding
Nathan,
Hey, I just observed the descent rate in feet per minute.
one of these times I am going to take our wing out of reflex and see what
the difference. Hah, hah, Legacy's can't do that.
Interesting that the CAFE measured the Legacy they tested at a
best glide of 135 Kts, substantially greater than my 107. Don't you
just love our high performance airplanes - not at all like those STC
slugs.
I am sure that someone out there in 320/360 land would be happy to shut
down the engine and report - someone skilled in military aerobatics - someone
with a beefed up tail that keeps winning x-cntry races?
