Merril Smith inquires about the availability of crushed Tungsten.  While I do not know about crushed, shaved tungsten waste from machining
operations may be available.  You will probably have to decontaminate it
from the machining fluid used,  but the cost would be hopefully lower.
You may also wish to inquire about the availability of the "tungsten
blanks" that have been discarded due to some dimensional shortfall.    Try the "Harken" company in Pewaukee Wisconsin 1-414-691-3320. They
manufacture a line of tungsten racing yacht fittings, are generally
friendly people and used to dealing with custom projects.  Failing
that,  try Lewmar of Guilford Ct 1-203 458 6200,  or Schaeffer of New
Bedford, MA  1 508 995 9511.  These phone #'s may have changed as I have
been out of that loop for a couple of years.  Hope it helps.  Regards to
all ..   Jeffrey B. Chipetine
