The oil temp of the O360 in my RV6 is too cool most of the time (about 175F
max at cruise to 190F max hot day climb). Yes, I found it hard to believe,
I verified and calibrated my gauge.
The cooler is mounted as low as possible, behind the cylinder in the left
corner of the baffling. No hoses or ducts, just the cooler mounted
vertically. This is Van's stock baffle kit location, apparently very
efficient since I block off 2/3 of the cooler when daily temps are below 50
degrees F.. CHT's are 300 to 320F max, I would like them to be higher also.
The only time I see high oil temp is an extended taxi with holds.
