I'm pretty much done with my H. Stab and elevators and now it's time to
install the whole assembly on the fuselage. This is a project I must admit
that I am somewhat intimidated by and one that I am NOT looking forward to
doing. Any helpful hints from those of you who have already succeeded will
certainly be appreciated. Any gotchas I should watch out for? Is there
something you'd do differently the second time around?

As you know, when Lancair went to the larger, carbon  fiber tail they didn't
bother to enlarge the saddle in the fuselage where the new H. Stab will
rest. The directions simply state that some cutting will be necessary, but
I'm especially concerned about the major surgery that will be required in
this
area. Is there a way to get an accurate cut the first time or is it
something that I'll need to whittle away at a small amount at a time and
then test fit till I get it right? Also, in the fast build kit there is an
angled stern
post and a small bulkhead in this area. Does anyone know if these will have
to be cut out, moved and re-installed?

Thanks,

Doug
