Martin Holman told me, at Oshkosh couple of years ago, the two-place wing
was designed for the performance and gross weight of the O-200 powered
Lancer 200 (thats right Lancer). The Lancer 200 became the Lancair
235/320/360 with a significant increase in speed and weight. Martin said
the airfoil is wrong for the 320/360 and performance would be significantly
improved with the right airfoil. He had not done any work on the redesign,
but was strongly of that opinion. Come to think of it, I can not recall
Martin ever having any thing less than a strong opinion.
I also seem to recall his saying if enough builders were interested he would
do the redesign for them since he could not interest Lance. Maybe this
forum could determine the interest level and ask Martin for projected
performance. I would guess he was talking about the outboard wings so it
would be a bolt on deal, bolt on- - - -heck that sounds easy!
