Hi guys,

I mentioned several days ago that we were changing the posting policies for the LML and that has been done.  Please remember that we have now closed the LML to non-subscribers to provide further protection from SPAM and virus attacks, and to insure that junk post submissions don't put us over the top of our daily volume limit.  This measure was instituted in response to the steadily increasing flow of junk email that we've been dealing with for the past several months, and which has recently caused some valid posts to be rejected by the listserver.

An attendant situation resulting from this restriction is that even subscribers will have their posts rejected if they originate from an email address other than the one used for the subscription.  Don't forget, computers are still pretty stupid and can only function by the rules that we set up for them.  As a result, if your subscription looks like "jsmith@someplace.com" and you send a post to the LML from your alternate email address of "js2@somplace.com" or somesuch, the listserver software doesn't recognize you in your non-subscribed incarnation and kicks your post back at you.  If you really must post from more than one email address be sure to subscribe with the alternate email address as well... I know that it will result in your receiving 2 of each post, but given the sophistication of most email programs, you can have your emailer dump the second copy without even seeing it... just look for "Filters" while using that email personality and let it filter inbound LML's straight to your round file.
