Larry,

The pitot/static switch Lancair supplies is set for about 70 Kts IAS.  It has never prevented me from retracting the gear on takeoff or go around (probably because the AOA would be screaming at me with so low an airspeed).

I have installed a "squat defeat" switch next to the gear locked lights.  Its a push-on push-off switch which provides a red backlight displaying the "Squat Sw Defeat" message when on.  This would be useful if there is an in-flight problem with the air switch, but is most useful when checking the gear operation on jacks.  That way, I don't have to blow in the cold pitot tube or get two interns to evenly suck on the bi-lateral static ports to raise the gear.

I'd rather switch than fight.
