Curtis,
If I understand your situation, I would build up the aileron web by the
3/8 inch necessary to properly align with the TE wing skins. In fact
the plans indicate the aileron should NOT be thinner than the TE of the
wing. Try to follow the bid schedule shown in the plans for the web
face and then you could add a spar cap for the area in question for
additional bonding surface to the lower aileron skin. Put the brackets
in per plans so you do not change the geometry of the aileron control
rods and make sure the left and right ailerons are the same. First and
foremost call Lancair and get their recommendation on this since they
probably have seen many similar situations and have a ready fix.
