HI THERE
first of all i want to thank all of you who responded to my request for help.
DUKES PUMPS
if you are buying a pump do not buy a Dukes pump unless it is a cheap used one. then do you really want to fly with the "cheapest Bidder"
Lancair wants $2000.00 for the 28 volt pump (NONE IN STOCK) Lancair wants $3200.00 for the 14 volt pump
for the 28volt they can ship next June or July...
the Dukes have resistors that go bad in the pumps that control low and high pressure with circuitry.
CJ AVIATION
wants $1,450 for ether 14 or 28 volts and can ship in one day
C J makes their own replacement parts for Dukes pumps and will rebuild whatever you have. three years ago they broke with Dukes and went out on their own. and designed their own pumps.
Charlie at CJ is a gentleman and a pleasure to do business with.
he told me that they build solid state electronics to operate their priority pump and build it to Boeing standards so that it would meet military specs.
Charlie said that he designed his Lancair pump based on the specs requested by previous Lancair buyers.
i.e.
42 gallons at 16 psi 19 gallons at 4-6 psi
his part number is CJ-10000-20-1 for 28 volts
YEA
as to other pumps, the Beech and Cessna pumps seem to be in the mid to high 30's gal per hour. i would not hesitate to use one if i was stuck somewhere; i am sure that it would work.
think about what we need the pump for; starting.. high pump. and some operations with low pump. and, high for engine driven failure.
and to all your suggestions,
YOU WERE ALL GREAT HELP, THANKS
three who responded suggested CJ Aviation. they were right
