Jones is correct. You don't want to be in the same room with depleted uranium if its seal coat is even
getting old. I had to be around an old DC-10 aileron at my work a few years ago. As back shop
inspector I did some research on the stuff and found
out the same bad news. We wrapped the weights in
clear plastic and duct tape and tried to avoid any further deterioration of the seal coat it had. That
and the working properties of tungsten make lead
look pretty good, toxic as it is!
