At Sun N Fun the Lincoln welder guys emphasized that cleaning the aluminum
was the most important step in welding it.  Clean, clean, clean, using
solvents and a dedicated stainless steel brush.  They said that any hint of
dirt or oil would cause the weld to spatter, and when the weld blew out
there would be holes.  I would have to agree with Jerry that Ed K. would be
a good choice to do the work.  You would have to ship it to Paducah KY. but
that might be better than buying another one.
