Thomas,
This "Mod" was recommended for the old GU (Glasgow University) canard. Rain droplets or even bug juice used to destroy the laminar flow and the canard was loosing some lift. The new Roncs (sp) canard works fine in rain.

Hey Buly,
you know about the report in a Cozy Newsletter about sanding the canard chordwise with 400paper - eliminates any rain-issues and any need for VG's...
If you do not have it, I have a "stolen" word-doc with the article...

The Cozy with vortex generators installed on the canard and main
wings, lands 10 mph slower and have better control at slow speeds.
It looses 1-2 mph at the top end. The VG's do the same thing as
dimpled tape, just better.
