It think it was Bill Eslick which gave the van model. Got a print-out of
his e-mail from Tracy.
I went to a NAPA store and their part# is 788046.
$100.
Thanks. I saw an archive message from Bill that said
he used an '86 Caprice core, but the link that I found for these things didn't
have a listing for 86-93 Caprice. It does list the 77-85 Caprice, and
gives an OEM number of 3035240, which crosses to the NAPA "GA
788046" number that you
mentioned.
I really wanted to
replace both left and right radiators, but the left one is less wide - my air
intake passes by it. Will have to wait till I change over to EFI and tuned
intake,
More proof
that these things are never really done :-)
The one
I removed:
3 7/8" D x 8 7/8" H x 13 1/2" W (10 1/2" core).
That's
looks like the same size as one of Ed's old cores that I tested.
Maybe this is the "standard".
Hi
Rusty,
When I was yanking cores out of
junk yard cars, I discovered that there were at least three different sizes in
GM cars. The largest cores I found in the cars was the 13 1/2W x 9Hx 3
3/8" - sounds like about the size of the one you removed, the others
were smaller.
Yes, its the size of the one I
sent you (that leaked - sorry 'bout that). They have proven to be quite
adequate for my installation - but may or may not for a different installation
that is producing more power than I am.
