Good to hear, Mark.  Yep! Scott worked with me, when several other
"noted" experimental agents wouldn't even try to get me insurance.  That along counts for a lot and of course him being successful counts for even more

Buly,
I thought I would post a follow-up to my insurance dilemma.  I have been
working with Scott at Skysmith Insurance.  He's a rotor-head (owned two
RX-7's), comes highly recommended by Ed Anderson, and has been working
on my behalf to obtain insurance on my 20B Lancair ES.  The problem was
that the new owner of Lancair, Inc. (an attorney) working with AIG, came
up with a new requirement for a "factory inspection" that prohibits
using auto engine conversions (won't pass inspection unless it is a
certified engine).  So, I was thinking I wouldn't be able to get my
Lancair ES insured.  Scott worked with AIG and was able to get them to
agree to grandfather me in since they had given me a quote for builder's
risk prior to the new requirements being implemented.  They're asking
for photo's of my installation and an engine test program.  That seems
reasonable.  No price quote yet.  As I understand it, AIG's premiums are
pretty reasonable.  The final chapter has yet to be written, but it
looks like the crisis has passed.

I tried very hard for couple of years and was not able to get any
insurance, even non-flying (not in motion) insurance. The best I could
do was liability in the hangar only without hull coverage. At the moment
there is not a a chance for me.
