That seems like it should work.  If the thermostat is cold, it will
be open and oil will flow past it from either direction.  The oil will
soon warm and close the thermostat.  I'll have to see how bad the
cowling mod will have to be before I decide.  I would like to use the
prefered direction.

Racing Beat got to sell me an extra 16 MM adaptor. :)  By the time I
get this thing running I'll probably have a garage sale to get rid of
my excess inventory.

hinder the oil flow.  Of course the only time it would open is when the oil
is cold so that some oil would by pass the cooler and remain warm.  If you
operate in frigid temperatures then you may want the thermostat to operate
properly - but, I have flown with OAT in the teens (F) without any problem.
