Having just waded through 100 + e-mail on rotary
risk, I don't see where the risk is in the rotary. As I recall Ed may have
had a rotary failure, but it hasn't been stated as to the cause. From
memory Rusty and Paul it seems had component failure. Failure comes with
anything and everything that we come in contact with. I fly behind a
Lyconasaurs which has had stuck valves, mag failures, porcelain coming loose
inside spark plugs and alternator bearings freezing in flight. It is part
of life. We give it our best shot. It was best explained by an
AVEMCO agent who told me if you must worry, buy a bicycle and lock it in the
garage. Lets get back to cooling, fuel, ignition and exhaust systems and
post what works the best. Two weeks will finish the airframe and on to
getting the rotary running. JohnD
