Hummmm, 260 lbs. Empty weight 1170, fuel 216, pilot 190, Tools/oil/tiedowns 20, baggage 50 = 1646 lbs or 4 lbs short of Van's recommended gross of 1650 lbs. Added 260 lbs of passenger = 1906 lbs. I hope Ernest you have found another ride to Charlie's Flyin - because its not going to happen in my RV-6A - just not enough hauling power. Sorry, 'bout that.

Actually, I've been thinking that if I could make it, I'd do it in my Dakota. I'd like to bring along some engine parts for a group perusal, and hopefully a consensus approval. The gotcha is that one of the EAA chapter members has conned Bob Knuckles into giving a 1.5 day seminar here the week after. I have to be careful how much I ask of she-who-guards-the-checkbook, for 'verily she wilt smite me about the head and neck from the rising of the sun to the setting thereof'. 8*)
Decisions. Decisions.
Would like to see you at Charlies. I take it you have a conflict with being at Lumberton?
