Good luck with reinstalling your engine and getting your plane back home. Wish I could send some of our warmer weather to you for a couple days.  Thanks for sharing your rebuilding tips and experience with us.  Paul Conner

Subject: [FlyRotary] Engine Rebuild Finished!

Finished the engine rebuild and loaded engine and lift into the van tonight.  Got 95 psi on both rotors - which supposedly with new rotors is about par, may pick up a bit as the new seals and rotors wear in.  Wx is suppose to be in the 30s tomorrow morning and depending on how quickly it warms up may put off installing it a day or so - naah, I'll just bundle up.

One other Gotcha, got me today.  When you are installing the rotors on the e shaft it is very important that your pay attention to the orientation of the lobe and the rotor's position on the side housing.  For the front rotor placing the lobe up toward up 12 O'clock (opposite the direction of the oil pan normal engine orientation in auto) and one vertex of the rotor aligned with the lobe.  When you go to put the center housing over the lobe and settle it on the front rotor housing you need the visible lobe of the e shaft to point to about 8 O'clock.   Once its past the lobe and on the front rotor then you need to move the lobe to the 6 O'clock position for placing the rear rotor on it.  If you don't do this you will find the rotor housing around the rotor and YOU CANT MOVE THE ROTOR (don't ask me how I know).

A bit tired so my O'clock position might be off, so read the Haynes manual and watch Bruces' video and save yourself some consternation {:>)

Best Regards
