You are correct, Dale. The "E" refers to 19mm thread_Length. However, I
did hold the two type plugs up for a comparison and they appeared the same
overall length (Penetration wise) - clearly I was wrong. I intend to
measure both with calipers tomorrow and will let the list know.

It may be my memory is foggy (from working too many hours
in a week) but, IRRC, "reach" refers to the _thread_ length,
not the total penetration including the electrode. It would
be good to lay the new plugs along side the standard ones,
with a straight edge on the gasket service, and compare
them.

B9EQV, neither one of us caught the "minor" difference - sigh! Both plugs
have the 19mm (3/5") reach - but don't know if the ground electrode is
different or not. The B9EQV looks just like a conventional plug with
perhaps a bit finer center electrode and with a ground strap off the side.
Any difference there could have made a difference - assuming the plugs are
the problem.
