Gentlemen,
I have posted questions concerning inverted oil pickup and exceeding designers max. horsepower and have received excellent answers. It will be awhile before I need an engine. At this point I am just making sure the rotary will be acceptable to modify for inverted flight. I will use/modify the Christen inverted oil system for this. I have used it twice before on V-8 engines and it worked fine using the valve covers as the inverted pickup. Both were run by chain driven dual oil pumps located on an accessory case.
At this point the tentative plan is to P-port using the 2:85 reduction with a large dia. prop. Dry sump oil system with flop tube pickup in the remote tank powered by a remote oil pump using a light weight synthetic oil. Still not sure on inverted oil pickup locations but the filler tube and dip stick locations are a good start. These plans may be revised many times as I watch the progress you guys are making and finding things that work. But, at least I have an outline I can start to build on.
Mostly I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge
Randy
