Barney,
It's only 2,000 miles - isn't it?

Subject: [FlyRotary] long range
tanks
Rusty,
Don't have six tanks for extra
fuel.
Only have 3. Two wing tanks of only 40
gallons. Could put more in the wings but it would make it tougher to handle
with 3500 amphibs (a top secret speed mod to beat Tracy). The other 120
gallons would be in a ferry tank in the cabin. Some of the Murphy guys are
putting fuel in a pod under the fuselage. More complicated plumbing.
Fuel is used up from the wings first. All fuel is returned to the
wings. When down about 60 gallons, the ferry tank would be used. Getting the
plumbing in now and anchor points for the ferry tank. A range of about 2000
miles. Can't make it to Hawaii tho...
