I wander  about that myself. My fuel lines, fuel filter, and fuel pumps are below tank level. So they are gravity fed and I installed them in such a manner to provide upslope path for any bubbles (making it easy for the bubbles to migrate up and away from the pumps). Do I still need the bypass?

Are the pumps in the engine compartment where they can get hot?  If so, the answer "might" be yes.  Mine are on the floor under my legs, so as long as my legs aren't boiling, neither will the fuel, so I don't need no stinkin' bypass :-)

Cheers,
Rusty (hanger walls have been replaced, so I can spread back out and get to work... Yeah!)
