My fuel lines, fuel filter, and fuel pumps are below tank level. So they are gravity fed and I installed them in such a manner to provide upslope path for any bubbles (making it easy for the bubbles to migrate up and away from the pumps). Do I still need the bypass? Buly Are the pumps in the engine compartment where they can get hot? If so, the answer "might" be yes.
