I think I will talk to Clark again, perhaps I misunderstood or something I said he misunderstood.  Or perhaps with my weighty bird he is right on the money, but compared to a prop the price of a phone call is cheap {:>)

Good plan Ed.  Are you sure he remembered that you have a 2.85 drive?

I'm sure there's more to the props that it would seem from the initial dimensions.  He was looking at the blade area he used for my prop, and kept saying that it was huge.  I believe his plan is to reduce some of the blade area, at the trailing edge.  He explained that doing this makes the tip too narrow, which is why he needs to trim the length some.   It's very possible that your prop is longer, but the blade area (shape) may have been narrower to keep the area the same as mine and Tracy's.  I really don't understand it, which is why I sent him all that money :-)

As a side note, I'm really not at all sorry to see a couple inches of diameter go away.  My ground clearance is really low, so an extra inch will be nice to have.  I've been afraid to fly into a grass strip due to the low clearance, and in fact, the only grass I've operated on was the Navy helicopter field.  Since the prop was stopped at about 10:00 - 4:00 position anyway, no problem  :-)

Cheers,
Rusty (mini monster)
