The timing of this topic couldn’t be
better! I FINALLY got my exhaust system back from the welder and was busy
putting it in this weekend and creating the heat shield, etc. I got to
the O2 sensor installation and almost had decided to skip the O2 because it
means another delay in starting my engine. It needs to be mounted in a piece of
stainless and then welded to the exhaust - ARGGHHHH more welding! The existing
Inconel isn’t thick enough to thread the 3/8” Straight Pipe
threads.
So, you’ve convinced me and I just
order a stainless welding bung from McMaster.

Re: ECU oxygen sensor
I certainly would not draw that conclusion, Bulent. I
have found theLED A/F indictors such a good indication of what my engine
is doing that I would hesitate to fly without it now. If the engine
starts to stumble you immediately know whether it because its too much or too
little fuel - sort of nice to know, trust me. {:>)
