To echo Rusty, I have never seen ‘too
much’ oil from any of my four fuel sump drains during pre-flight.
This after even months of standing.

The best lesson here was to realize
that if the oil does happen to settle out, it will collect at the drain valve,
and I'll see it when I sump the tanks during pre-flight.
